Software Engineer – Core Services

About the job

Core Services team is responsible for delivering the building blocks of our service orientated architecture. You will design, build and maintain a set of scalable and secure services and tools used by all engineering teams, to support fast paced product development. You will work closely with the product teams in making key technical decisions that will affect our whole architecture. We are looking to automate the environment setup of our service orientated architecture, comprised of discrete frontend applications, serverless backend services and server clusters running Docker images. 

Key responsibilities

  • Write quality, maintainable code with extensive test coverage, primarily in Node.js and PHP.
  • Work with different AWS services (including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, EC2, ElasticBeanstalk, CloudFront, CloudWatch, API Gateway, ELB and ECR).
  • Build a Docker container cluster on AWS to enable engineers to quickly and efficiently develop, deploy and maintain backend services.
  • Improve our Continuous Integration pipeline to reliably automate the release of applications throughout different stages in the applications lifecycle.
  • Provide feedback and support to engineering teams regarding availability, scaling, release automation and monitoring.
  • Evaluate and choose technologies to use in building a scalable and secure architecture.
  • Perform architecture and code reviews.

Relevant profile

  • Experience with production applications in AWS or other cloud service providers.
  • Knowledge of API design principles. You know the difference between REST and RPC.
  • Experience automating environment setups on AWS or other cloud service providers.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining production quality Docker images and clusters.
  • Full english professional proficiency.
